Brentford 2-0 Nottm Forest, full time

Brentford claim a surprise 2-0 win despite being thoroughly outplayed for long spells. Nikola Milenkovic's own goal put the hosts ahead midway through the first half, and Igor Thiago's clinical finish from Jaidon Anthony's pass on the break sealed it late on. Forest dominated the ball and piled up 15 shots to Brentford's seven, but managed just a single shot on target all afternoon and were punished on the counter. A frustrating evening for Forest, who also saw Milenkovic and Daniel Muñoz booked, while Brentford held firm to secure all three points.

Brentford have doubled their lead completely against the run of play - Igor Thiago finished a fast break from Jaidon Anthony's assist to make it 2-0, despite Forest still holding the lion's share of possession and shots throughout.

Forest continue to press for an equaliser but still can't force a shot on target, adding another couple of efforts to their tally - Muñoz firing wide and Kalimuendo seeing his shot blocked soon after coming on. Brentford have made fresh changes of their own, with Hickey, Damsgaard and Anthony all introduced, and are holding out stubbornly at 1-0 with the game becoming increasingly stop-start through fouls and cards for both sides.

Forest have continued to dominate after the break, piling on more shots - Gibbs-White, Yates and Ndoye have all had efforts in the last ten minutes - but still can't find a shot on target as Brentford's defence holds firm. The visitors have made early changes, bringing on Muñoz and Yates at the interval, and their pressure continues to show in the stats with 12 shots and more possession, yet they remain 1-0 down thanks to Milenkovic's earlier own goal.

Forest have continued to press for an equaliser without managing to beat Kelleher, racking up nine shots to Brentford's four but still searching for a shot on target. Milenkovic was fortunate to stay on after his yellow card for a foul on Schade, and Jensen almost doubled Brentford's lead when his free-kick crashed against the bar. Gibbs-White's header just before the break was the closest Forest have come, but it's Brentford who go in 1-0 up at half-time.

Brentford take a slightly fortunate lead - Milenkovic turns the ball into his own net to put the hosts 1-0 up despite Forest having enjoyed the better of the chances and possession up to that point.

Nottingham Forest have had the better of the opening quarter-hour despite Brentford holding more of the ball. Forest's Schlager, McAtee, Delap and Murillo have all tried their luck from distance without testing Kelleher, while Brentford's best moment came from a Sangaré header that drifted wide after an early corner. Still goalless, with Forest shading things on chances created.
